CARMINA BURANA | CLASSICAL 105.7 HIGHLIGHT
This concert's pre-show SPOTLIGHT SESSIONS features local musician Jerry Serrano with Alma Quartet at 6pm in the lobby!
Carmina Burana (1937) is an epic cantata that combines secular medieval poetry with the choral and instrumental music of German composer Carl Orff (1895-1982). The work follows the highs and lows of the legendary "Wheel of Fortune," as it spins to determine the fate of man. Lubbock Chorale and the West Texas Children's Chorus join the LSO to recreate the recognizable classic "O Fortuna" and the other extraordinary movements of this timeless piece.
