Lubbock Symphony Orchestra Presents Video Games Live

Award-winning immersive concert event coming to Lubbock

LUBBOCK, TX – The Lubbock Symphony Orchestra (LSO) announced Video Games Live, an immersive concert experience for all ages. This concert will be held at The Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts and Sciences on March 27, 2021, at 7:30 p.m. The orchestra, accompanied by electronic instruments and synchronized video footage, will perform music from video games including “Final Fantasy,” “Overwatch,” “Kingdom Hearts” and many more.

“This concert will be truly exhilarating,” said Galen Wixson, president and CEO. “The epic video game music paired with dynamic lighting and video will be an experience you won’t want to miss. This will be an unforgettable performance for new and experienced video game lovers, as well as patrons of all ages.”

Video Games Live is a touring production created and produced by industry veteran and world-renowned video game composer Tommy Tallarico. This concert celebrates the culture and art of video games. Video Games Live bridges a gap for entertainment by exposing new generations of music lovers to orchestral music while also providing a completely new and unique experience for families and non-gamers. The award-winning production has performed over 500 shows in 42 countries including multiple sold-out shows in venues such as the Bird’s Nest National Olympic Stadium in Beijing, the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., the Royal Festival Hall in London and Red Rocks in Colorado.

Video Games Live is an exciting once-in-a-lifetime show to see in Lubbock,” said Wixson. “Tommy Tallarico has taken this show all around the world, and we are very fortunate to perform alongside him right here in the Hub City.”

Wixson said the LSO is taking extra precautions to ensure the safety of their patrons. Security and temperature checks will be taken at the door and masks are required to enter the facility. Seating will be distanced and patrons will be dismissed by section to avoid crowding at the exits. The LSO is encouraging patrons to arrive between 15 and 30 minutes prior to the performance time to avoid unnecessary crowding. Clear bags are required if larger than a clutch. A full list of safety procedures can be found at LubbockSymphony.org.

Tickets start at $33. For more information or to purchase tickets, contact the LSO box office at (806) 762-1688 or visit LubbockSymphony.org.
