Computer/Web Support Intern Summer 2008/Fall 2008/Spring 2009
Job Profile:Assist with application support; maintenance of software titles, including operating system and softwareupdates, end-user permissions and account management, and email account maintenance; network security and protocols; database management, including construction, manipulation, and data compilation.Organize training sessions for staff; assess, modify, and update the architecture, functionality, and aesthetics of the LSO website; and work with Marketing Director to coordinate web materials with advertisements, brochures, patron mailings, news, etc.
Candidate Profile:Highly organized; self-motivated; excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; thorough knowledge of MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.
Job Profile:Assist with the planning and implementation of Lubbock Symphony marketing, advertising, and public relations activities.This involves designing and editing concert programs, advertisements, brochures, mail-outs, invitations, patron mail, etc. and promoting concerts through different media.
Candidate Profile:Highly organized; self-motivated; creative thinker; excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills; ability to work effectively under pressure with numerous deadlines; excellent written and verbal communication skills; thorough knowledge of MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, etc. and skills in desktop publishing and graphic.Experience in graphic design is required.Experience in web production is desired.
Job Profile:Work with LYSO program director, youth symphony staff, and musicians to assist with the planning, coordination,and implementation of Lubbock Youth Symphony Orchestra activities and events, including auditions, weekend rehearsals, concerts, and fundraisers.Attendance at LYSO concerts, chamber concerts, and LSO concerts is required.Attendance for LYSO auditions and rehearsals may necessitate attendance.

Education Intern Fall 2008/Spring 2009
Job Profile:Work primarily with Education Director to assist in the planning, coordination, and implementation of LSO Education Department programs including education concerts, chamber series presentations, teaching artist program, and Lubbock Youth Symphony Orchestra activities and events.Responsibilities include assisting with departmental mailings, updating school databases, researching and designing curricular materials, programming, etc.Attendance at LYSO concerts, chamber concerts, and LSO concerts is required.
Candidate Profile:Interested in education and youth; creative thinker; highly organized; self-motivated; ability to work independently; excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work effectively under pressure with numerous deadlines; ability to multi-task; computer skills with an emphasis in desktop publishing and MS Office.Arts Administration and Music majors desired, but not required.
Production Intern Fall 2008 and Spring 2009
Job Profile:Assist with all aspects of orchestra operations related to stage management, guest artist relations, venue arrangements, and concert production; work with music director, stage manager, personnel manager, and librarian to see that all rehearsal and performance requirements are met.Attendance at all LSO rehearsals and concerts, including educational concerts and youth symphony orchestra concerts, is required.
Candidate Profile:Music major required.Masters or Doctorate student preferred.Candidate must be willing to commit to Fall and Spring semesters and be available to work evenings during concert weeks.Highly motivated; highly-organized; detail-oriented; excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to work independently; able to work under pressure; flexible and physically fit with the ability to lift 40 lbs.
